This gallery contains examples demonstrating how to use Picht, moving up from basic cylindrical electrodes, to 
understanding the properties of unipotential lenses, to finally being able to design and chain complex multi-lens systems.

Begin at electric and magnetic lens creation, work your way through the unipotential lens series, and then try your hand at the SEM example.

    <div class="sphx-glr-thumbcontainer" tooltip="Here&#x27;s a full simulation of an electrostatic lens-only scanning electron microscope (SEM), where we combine electrostatic lenses, einzel lenses, and complex acceleration, focusing and defocusing behaviors in one instance. We chain together several electrodes, a condenser (einzel) lens, and an objective (einzel) lens and observe two full crossovers- that&#x27;s where the beams make an X. Note how because of the clean-ness of the design, it looks like two clean lines- this isn&#x27;t because we&#x27;ve parameterized the beam this way, but because of the electron optics at play. Tinker with the parameters here, see how things change. Note: You&#x27;ll have to zoom in for this, because the default system is WAY too small to see. Learn to use matplotlib&#x27;s visualization tools to better understand the system.">

Iron has ~1000, air has 1, higher values increase the flux density (magnetic field strength). MMF is the magnetomotive force- sometimes referred to as ampere-turns. This is the magnetic analogue to voltage. By specifying MMF and Mu_r you control the properties of the magnet, especially since these are applicable both to DC electromagnets and permanent magnets.">
